Our Goals
Our Church is moving to a community reading for these reasons:
Learning of Christ
Matt 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Deu 31:12, John 6:45
Honor His calling to abide in the Word
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
John 15:4, John 15:7, Acts 6:4, 2 Tim 4:2, 1 Pet 2:2, 2 Pet 3:2, James 1:22, 1 John 2:14
Unity of Church through Study
John 17:23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
Psa 133:1, Eph 4:3, Col 3:14
Encourage each other in what He teaches us
Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Psa 119:50, Acts 15:31, 1 Thes 4:18, 2 Thes 2:17
Be Affirmed in Joy and Prosperity according to Gods plan
Luke 11:28 But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it."
Psa 119:24, Psa 119:47, Psa 119:92, Matt 4:4, Matt 7:24, Rev 1:3
Our Expectations

In Matt 11:30, Jesus says, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." We see in this we are children of a good master. Commit yourself to following the lead of the Holy Spirit. If you fall behind, cheerfully renew your commitment to grow in faithfulness. Gal 5:18 teaches: "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law."
Our Strategy: For those starting out

By clicking on the chapter links, you can go directly to the chapter and read it in BibleGateway.
You can easily listen to the Bible by clicking the speaker icon in BibleGateway.
The default version is NIV, which is what our church mainly uses, but you can change this too.

  • This plan uses 1 chapter in the morning.
The books used are from either the Gospels or the Poetry.
By Poetry we mean: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, SongOfSolomon.
This plan does NOT repeat Proverbs between the Gospel books.

  • Psalm 119 has 22 paragraphs. We use one for each day because it is large.

  • This plan ends the morning reading in December.
After ALL books there is a break for 1 day.
The leap year, as in in most plans, is unassigned.
  • Our Strategy: For those reading the entire Bible

There is an evening reading of about 3 chapters.
Reading the morning & evening plans together covers the entire Bible in a year.
After ALL books there is a break for 1 day.
This is quite deliberate, and gives the reader time to to reflect on the last book read.
If you want to finish a little earlier in December, try skipping the breaks between small books.
